About Liveable Skin

Linda McMahon developed Liveable Skin; a service led by a specialist nurse, offering a low-cost, individualised service for adults with chronic skin complaints, to help them manage their condition, improve the appearance of the skin, ease symptoms, and minimise the number of ‘bad skin days’ experienced.

Linda has been a dermatology specialist nurse for over fourteen years, both in hospital and community clinics, and over that time has treated many patients living with chronic, inflammatory skin disease such as psoriasis and eczema, and seen what a huge impact this can have on their lives.

A Dermatology service will usually see people with severe skin conditions in a hospital outpatient department or community clinic; tablet or injectable treatments for the skin may be offered.

For people who have less severe conditions, the impact on lives can still be large, but they may not have the opportunity to be seen by a specialist service.

An appointment at Liveable Skin will involve a thorough assessment of the person, an explanation of the nature of the condition, followed by the development of a treatment plan to suit the individual’s needs. If the person has a condition that is likely to need treatments such as tablets, which are available via a Dermatology service, a recommendation will be made to the GP for a relevant referral to be made.

If you would like some help to manage your skin, please feel free to contact Liveable Skin for an appointment.
